After reading various FAQ's about buying a cabinet it was abvious there is a bit of 'us and them' between us mere mortals and the Arcade vendors out there !!  With this in mind I started to call the Arcade companies listed in the phone directory, most didn't want to know but after a little perseverance I found a local chap willing to offer the goods.

The Zaxxon cabinet was bought in a non-working state for 70 UKP (fairly expensive I thought)

How to create the beast

First off, I gutted the whole machine, took everything out and gave that machine a bath, after 15+ years there was a lot of grime.  Eventually the game board and a few other bits were given to a real Arcade collector in exchange for another Cabinet (French game called Explorer) which my buddy Malcolson has. He's currenly conducting a similar project.
